This page lists the papers that people want to discuss at the next upcoming AstroCoffee session. AstroCoffee takes place in the conference room on the third floor, SC 6333 (NOTE: Location Change). It takes place every Thursday at 12 noon and lasts as long as there is astronomy to discuss. We select papers from the most recent days of astro-ph, although older papers that someone wants to bring up are also welcome. Sometimes we have special talks by visiting astronomers; a list of such talk can be found on the past Astro talks page.
AstroCoffee is a chance for informal discussions of papers and astronomy. The conversation will be kept at a relatively simple level, with encouragement for students to speak up and ask basic questions. Any member of the department may select a paper or topic for discussion, and add it to the agenda by posting it on this wiki page for the next AstroCoffee or maybe a later, upcoming AstroCoffee. If you post a paper, you should arrive at AstroCoffee having looked it over and understanding the general issues, but you do not have to have a detailed understanding of it - that is what the discussion is for.
